Hola from Cabo

Well, as many of you know we are on vacation this week. And needless to say we are having a blast. The kids are amazing us. Kaden can do so much more then he could last summer. Like jump off the side of the pool without being caught and he can actually keep his head above water while in his life jacket. Of course since Jack wasn't even around last summer we are amazed by everything he can do. He will even "jump" off the side into our arms. And the pirate obsession has followed us. We spent the afternoon with Jack and I being the pirates on our boat (shallow part of pool) and Kaden and Tim as the Sea Beasts. We had many attacks but Jack and I held our own. Unfortunately, one of the sea beasts is still learning about pretend play and actually bit both Jack and I. We will have to work on that one.
One funny story: When we got to the pool the first day Tim started taking off Kaden's shoes and shirt. The next thing I know Kaden is buck naked running toward the pool and Tim is holding Kaden's swim trunks. Kaden took them off because he didn't want them to get wet. It took a lot of coaxing but we convinced him it would be okay to wear his swim suit. Tim and I were laughing so hard.

Sir Spews-A-Lot & Captain Underpants

Here is what we have been up to. I don't have any new pics of the kids so this is just an update.

Captain Underpants - We are so proud of Kaden. He is still working on potty training but is doing such a good job. He wears underwear all day and only has about 1 accident a day. He still has some progress to make to be considered "potty trained" but he is close. He actually does the best when we are out and about then he does at home. We can't believe what a big boy he is becoming. He has really started to look after Jack and make sure he is okay. It is so sweet. This morning before Tim left for work Kaden (half asleep) asked for a hug & kiss and then said give Jack a hug & kiss too.

Sir Spews A Lot- Poor Jack can't keep his food down. So he has had a blood test, urine test, and Upper GI. All results have been good which is reassuring. I had his weight checked yesterday and in the last month he gained 13 oz. which is more then he gained in the previous 2 months combined. We have also been monitoring when he spits up and it seems to mostly be after I nurse him. So, I am going to try to eliminate all dairy from my diet and see if he maybe has an allergy. I have mixed feelings about this. I hope it works for Jack's sake but that means no milk or anything that is made from milk. No butter, ice cream, cheese, sour cream, cookies, chocolate, etc. I can't even have anything that has been cooked with butter. Although, this will probably be great for losing weight, tough for me. We will see. He will continue to take his reflux medicine as well. Other then the vomiting he is doing great. He can sit up for a long time now and rolls anywhere he wants to go. I know it is only a matter of time until he is truly mobile. * sigh*

I have been busy trying to keep up with the laundry! Due to the potty training, spewing, and outside playing it NEVER ends. Most of it never gets put away. I am happy for the return of Spring Weather. We are so ready to be back outside! I am amazed how long Kaden can keep himself busy just walking around picking stuff up to look at. Have a great week.

Easter Fun!

We had a great weekend full of Easter activities, even though it didn't feel like Spring. Kaden had a great time dyeing eggs. It was a mess but, our eggs turned out beautiful! On Sunday morning the Easter bunny came and filled the boys baskets with lots of fun toys (mostly bath stuff). She also hid the eggs in the livingroom because it was way too cold outside. Oh, by the way in our house the Easter bunny is a girl. We went to an Easter egg hunt last weekend put on by our church. The Easter bunny was a girl in our youth group and called Kaden by name. He was so excited that the Easter bunny knew his name. But, anyway because it was a girl's voice the Easter bunny is a girl here. Of course, we went to church following our morning festivities. Kaden went to children's church during the message (for the first time). I asked him what he learned and he said "Jesus is alive" so he clearly benefited from their activities, which also included another Easter egg hunt! After, church we went to Grandma Ann's for Lunch. We were all exhausted by the time we got home. Here are a few pictures. I don't have many of the boys dressed up. I plan to dress them back up and take some pictures outside if it ever warms up again!

Kaden dyeing eggs. We only broke 4-5 eggs and spilled 1 color of dye. Pretty good for a 2 year old! Now next year with an 18- month old and a 3 year old might be a different story.
