A Sweet Holiday

I picked the boys up from their Valentine's party and we went home. We had been home about 20 minutes and I realized it was very peaceful and very quiet. No one was asking about snacks or drinks or wanting the TV turned on. No one was fighting or whining. Sound wonderful? Well, those of you who are parents know this is NOT a good sign.  I started looking for the boys and well this is what I found.

I hadn't realized they had come in with their stuff and ran off with their valentine sacks. They were hiding with every piece of candy opened in our bedroom on the floor on the side of the
bed I couldn't see from the door. Kaden discovered his new favorite candy: pixie sticks. I found about 3 wrappers of them. It should be a fun night when the sugar crash hits.

Jack's Heaven (Yes, that is 3 suckers!)

I was picking Jack up from his class and another mother was there picking up her daughter (Kennedy). She heard me say something to Jack. And the mother said "Oh this is Jack".  Kennedy said "Yes, Jack is so sweet." Her mom then told me Kennedy had named her favorite baby doll and all her animals Jack. Awwww. What a cute story - as long as she knows that sweet Jack's heart belongs to me - at least for now.

Kristen's Wedding

I know I have lots of catching up to do. I am going to start with an easy post to get me started blogging again.

My sister Kristen got married to Jake Windscheffel on January 2 in Lawrence. It was fun, crazy and busy. Tim and I both were honored to stand up for Kristen. Yes, Tim was a bridesmaid. He didn't have to wear a dress though. Jake had his sister stand up for him so it was a little different.  Kaden and Jack were flower kids. They tried to leave a rose petal path for Aunt Kristen although they mostly ended up in one pile somewhere along the way. If Tim and I are ever both heavily involved in an event with 2 little kids and a newborn we are definitely hiring a nanny!

The day of the wedding my mom got really sick. We weren't sure she would even make it to the wedding kind of sick. But, by the time the wedding started she felt well enough to attend and felt better as the night went on. Praise God. I think he had everything to do with it.

Kristen was a beautiful bride and their wedding was beautiful as well. I really don't think they could have done anything different to make it any better.

Let me just say their wedding dance was so much fun! Probably the most fun I have ever had at a wedding dance. Maybe it was just that trying to take care of the kids, my wedding responsibilities, and my mom being sick were all very stressful so when everything turned out it was just time to let our hair down and have fun or maybe they just know how to throw a party. Who knows. But, I will say at midnight Kaden and I were walking across the parking lot to the hotel exhausted and barefoot. Kaden kept saying I can't make it another step my feet are too tired. I kept saying you just have to keep going. Staying up til midnight was a first for Kaden.

Sadly, I don't have any pictures of the wedding. But Brad does! He did a fantastic job on the pictures.  Here is a slideshow of the big event. Make sure you have the volume on. And look for the handsome little boys in their tuxes.
