Till the Cows come home

Our Backyard

How fun is that! The boys loved it! Of course, they chased them, the cows ran, and we haven't seen them again. So, I assume they went wherever it was they came from.

Go Find Something to do...

When you tell your kids to go find something to do be prepared for what they come up with. This ended up being tons of fun and no one got hurt although the wall may have some minor damage.

The Destroyer

Kyler is known around our house as The Destroyer. He just can't help but play with this brothers when they are playing cars, legos, blocks, trains, etc. and well it doesn't end up very well. I often hear "Mom! Destroyer Destroyer!"  They get so frustrated but they know he is learning and someday he won't derail the trains or knock down the towers when he is trying to play.

Then the other day I found Kyler sitting on top of the Kitchen he knocked over....

...on second thought he might always be The Destroyer in the house!

Snow Day!

Last week it snowed! It wasn't much but enough. I treasured this snow day with my boys because it wasn't enough to cancel school around here so....next year Kaden won't be home on a day like today. Which also means we will have to get dressed and drive in this mess. Yuck! We spent the day in our p.j.'s, played games, and made cookies. We did go outside but we just put our snow clothes over our p.j.s! I hope we get a few more snow days this year.

Making Snow Ice Cream

Kyler loved it!

It was a really cold day so we brought the snow inside to play with. Jack played cars and Kaden used animals.

Jack started a snowball fight. I am glad my camera survived.

How to sled when you don't have a hill.  Kaden and I
My dad and I had to take turns. It was exhausting, dizzing, and the cold air in the lungs was terrible. Jack and my dad.

Actually, this could become a new form of therapy for me. Just take the kids out in the backyard and throw them off the sled a few times!

A lot to catch up on

Well, in my last post I was so excited to be going to Wicked. Which, we did and it was wonderful. Although, we forgot the tickets so we had to drive back to meet Pam to pick them up but we made it just in the nick of time...like we landed in our seats in the dark just as the curtain opened. I was surprised how much the story intertwined with the Wizard of Oz. If you didn't know the story of the Wizard of Oz pretty well (Tim) then the musical was kinda confusing.  Anyway, we got home from that on a Wednesday morning and left that Friday night for a weekend in Edmond and then a few days in Dallas with the kids followed by a trip to NYC for Tim and I -  all work related. Anyway, I will get more into detail on all that when I finally get around to "catching up".

Here is a Jack tid-bit.
Jack: "Daddy your truck man is starving.... (pause)...for candy."

And in Kyler news... He can now quickly and easily climb up on our coffee table. And he isn't content sitting he always stands up.  This has also resulted in two very minor falls. So this has really kept me on my toes and Kyler is getting to learn about time-out for disobeying.

I have also been crafting a lot lately so hopefully, I can share some of that as well.

I'm So Excited!

Tonight Tim is taking me to "Wicked" and I can't wait! I thought I was going to have to wait for a trip to NYC to see it but I don't.  YEA!  And even better is we are going to spend the night and make a mini retreat out of it. I am a little nervous about leaving the kids over night, mostly Kyler. He hasn't been left over night yet and still nurses when he goes to sleep and when he gets up but, I know we will both survive.   I'll let you all know how it is tomorrow.

Halloween Recap

We had such a fantastic halloween. Being the 3 chipmunks was such a fun costume. The kids LOVED being them. We even put the song that is on the slide show in Jack's halloween bucket that he carried so when someone opened the door the chipmunks were there singing.  This has slides from Kaden's preschool halloween party, the party at story hour, and from the Spooktacular. There are also some from the day of Halloween like having eggs and eyeballs for breakfast. YUM! Every year Halloween just gets more fun. Oh, and I think the kids were so lucky to have Halloween on a Saturday night. It seemed like that stretched the festivities over a week instead of them being crammed into a day or two.
