Vacation Day 1

Sometimes things just don't go according to plan, even on vacation. Today was just one of those days that I had to continually remind myself to think positively and enjoy this stage with young kids!  Our day started  by finding out the aquarium opened at 10 instead of 9. No problem, we will just walk to REI to kill some time. Because you know with young boys you don't just wait...in one place...for an hour. Well, the boys had "tried out" their new camelbaks already that morning so they all had to go to the bathroom really really bad. We kept walking toward REI and just when the chorus of "we have to go" was about to do us in we came across a port-a-potty. Seriously! When does that happen?! Anyway, we had fun looking at more "stuff" and climbing rocks! On our way back to the aquarium we even utilized the "miracle potty" again! The aquarium was a really good one with huge tanks - a lot better then the one we visited in March in Dallas.

By the way - matching shirts in a really crowded place are a really good idea! I wonder how long the boys will be good with this plan? Ha!
We enjoyed a really good lunch at the aquarium and even got to watch some scuba divers taking lessons in one of the big aquariums while we ate. It was really fun to tell the boys all about what they were doing. I think they may have actually thought mom & dad were kinda cool - maybe!

Hudson loved seeing the fish but it wore him out!

There was a little petting zoo outside the aquarium so we stopped to chase...um feed... the animals.

After that we decided it was time to head up into the mountains. It should have taken a little over an hour but, took well over 2!!! There was so much traffic & whining & complaining! Once we got to Breckenridge, we unloaded, and the boys went swimming while I went to the grocery store - with everyone else in the mountains! Ha! When I got back the boys didn't want to go eat but I encouraged us too.  It seemed like it was one correction after another and Tim and I were running on empty patience wise. It ended with Hudson puking, not spitting up, puking all over me and him. Wipes weren't going to touch this mess. So, he and I left early and walked back to our condo covered in his bright orange sweet potato puke.  Nice!
We still had some fun and are so thankful to be on vacation together! We just hope tomorrow is a little less challenging!

Denver

We made it to Denver and we didn't waste any time! We headed out to walk around down town, go to REI to get some gear, and find something to eat.

I love that these 3 can still share a bed on vaction. Tomorrow we will go to the Aquarium and drive to Breckenridge.

We're off on another adventure

We've packed and loaded the car and are all excited with the anticipation of a week spent in the mountains! Cooler weather here we come!

Oh and did I mention our kids will be rocking matching t-shirts...Grizwald transformation complete!

Since this blog is our family's only scrapbook (which is sad I know), I hope to post throughout the week.

Captive

I was trying to pick up the house the other day while the boys were at school. I kept hearing this noise in the boy's room. It was coming from their closet. I cautiously looked - a little afraid of what I would find. Thank goodness it was only a lizard!?! I don't know which is worse the fact that there was a lizard being kept in the closet or that I didn't think that was too bad and left it there. Ha!

Growing Up

Monday night Tim sent me a text that said Jack had a loose tooth!
He lost it at school on Wednesday.

We celebrated by eating INSIDE McDonalds - Jack's request.

The tooth fairy brought him a dollar!

I can't believe how bitter sweet this is... another baby growing up!

Mini Ski Trip

A couple weeks ago Tim and my dad took the boys on a short weekend ski trip. They all had a great time even though: Jack threw up all night, Kaden was lost for an hour on the mountain, Jack hit two trees, and Kyler came home with a fever. They are all talking about going again!

Kyler went to ski school and they said he skied every chance he got! They even thought he was going to get to go on the big mountain his first day because he was so close to learning to stop.

(Orange Coat)

And he is done.

Kaden took off right away, which is why the only picture is him on the lift. He really liked going in the trees this time. He got lost when he fell down in the trees, Tim and my dad thought they had missed him and went down by the lift. Kaden then skied down to the lift - went past them, got back on the lift, and continued skiing by himself. Finally, he told ski patrol he was lost and about that time Tim saw him with ski patrol.

Jack needed another ski school lesson or maybe he needed his mom to help him. He had fun though and started to figure things back out by the end of the day after a few collisions with trees. Thankfully, he wasn't hurt.

I am pretty jealous I missed this trip. I was busy throwing a baby shower for my sister so I was happy to be able to do that without the help of all my boys. Also, I wouldn't have been able to ski anyway with Hudson so little. Next Year!
