8 Years!

Happy anniversary to my best friend, husband, and tubing partner (yes, we just did this yesterday, yes my body hurts, and yes I will add pictures when I can).

You know recently I have had two interesting experiences:
1) I was with a group of girls who were talking (one of which got married the same day I did - Elizabeth). The conversation changed to marriage which of course got us talking about how long we had been married.  Several of them said 3 months, 1 year, 8 months, 2 years, etc. Then I made eye contact with Elizabeth and we both laughed. We were the OLD married ladies. When did that happen?

2) I was talking with a friend and she made the comment that there wasn't a Sunday school class for them. I told them there was a young adults class and she said No there really wasn't and followed it by saying EVERYONE in the class had been married a long time and had kids.  Well, yeah but we are still young - right? Apparently not to someone who has been married 8 months.

So there you have it. I don't feel like an old married women.  But, I guess this is the point maybe I can't be part of the young newly married crowd.

We are on vacation in Branson and are having so much fun! I may have to go buy a camera cord so I can get pics up soon.

Playing with the Baby Tiger

This was a traveling exhibit that we couldn't resist. They had baby tigers and lions. Aren't they just adorable! It is so hard to believe they will grow up to be huge dangerous animals.  If I remember right they were about 8 weeks old and by 12 weeks they can't allow people in to play with them anymore.  We didn't get very good pictures because they were mostly asleep while we were there. They sleep 23 hours a day! There were also a lot of rules (which we followed so Kyler wasn't confused for a snack). But we could pet and touch them which the boys loved. Especially, Kaden our animal lover.

You know you have BOYS when...

1) EVERY pair of children's jeans in the house look like this:
2) In nearly every room of the house (and outside too) you can find a car lot.

3) Your baby really likes to be rough housed a little bit.

4) There are rocks everywhere (pockets, in the car, in the house, in the dryer). Jack picks up "rock men" whenever he sees them. They drive the above mentioned cars.

5) You have various jars on the kitchen counter filled with bugs, snails, worms, and a legless grasshopper.

6) You have to check the mail everyday right when it comes
to see if the tadpoles have arrived yet.  Which isn't anything too new - last year we were waiting on the ants so we could start our ant farm.

7) You know you will be making trips to the pet store to buy crickets when those tadpoles become frogs.

8) You know "A Day Out with Thomas" is not a play date with a boy from your child's class. It is actually  an overpriced trip to see a little blue engine. But, worth it to see your little train maniacs eyes light up.
9) You dream you where the Duggars so you could have an indoor playground in your house. Oh the energy it would burn!

10) Your 1 year old had to have stitches from jumping on the furniture.

11) You know a good way to burn off energy is to make them run to the fence and back and they will do it if you time them.

12) If you hear something that sounds like rain on a tin roof you know someone is peeing on the toilet lid  or in the bath tub.

13) On the same note #12. You have been embarrassed when your child peed in the park or the front yard or (gasp) on the church lawn.

14) You have asked one of your children to slice the butter and when you
looked up they had created a butter fort out of the pieces.
15) It really doesn't work out not to allow play weapons in your house. 1) Boys dig them. 2) If you don't have any they will turn sticks and anything else into swords, guns, and lightsabers. So if you don't want your blind turning thingys pulled down buy swords.

115) Everyday there are many moments that you (as a girl) will never understand but they melt your mama heart.
What are your favorite boy moments?

Happy Easter!

A few days before this picture was taken the boys and I saw the Easter Bunny. I was really excited pointing it out to the boys. Kaden looks at me and said: "Mom, thats not the Easter bunny. That is just a man in a suit." I laughed trying to think of how to respond to that. He then said: "The real Easter bunny is a real bunny and is much too busy to be out walking around." Whew!  So we can still believe in the real Easter Bunny at our house.

New look

My blog got a much needed new look! Cherie (CJ's Corner) made me this new background for me as part of the pay it forward challenge. I LOVE It! She even took the time to find pics I had posted on my blog of the boys for it. How sweet is that!  Anyway, it has made me excited about blogging again so there will be updates soon.

Elena, Diane, & Heather your gifts will hopefully be done soon! I have an idea and the supplies. Now I just need a free moment or two to get it done.

Anyone up for a challenge?

I got this off my friend Cherie's blog.

Here is how it works. I will send the first 3 people who leave a comment a homemade gift. But the catch is you have to do the same thing on your blog & send 3 people a homemade gift. You have a year to complete the challenge. I hope to send out my homeade gifts much much faster then that though. :)

SO do I have any takers?
