It doesn't get better then this!

January 10, 2011 - Our first Snow Day of the year!

Kaden ran right out and put his face in the snow...Crazy kid!

Love This! I think I might frame it.

Hay Bales are fun to slide down!

And we ended it with Homemade Hot Chocolate. I made the recipe I found here, it was so good but rich, so I doubled the cool whip :) but probably next time would use less chocolate.

And today is another Ice/Really Cold/ Too many kids out sick....Day off of school!!!

My Cubie & Sparky ready for Awana.

This is a great program for scripture memory. I love that it has an- at home- at our own pace component and the boys love that they can earn patches for their vests!

Through this experience I have also learned more about my kids. Kaden was so nervous to tell the listeners the verses he knew. It took 3 weeks to get through his first verse because he was too nervous to tell them he knew the whole thing. (Something he got from me) He was especially shy because this is at a church that isn't the one we go too, therefore the listeners were strangers. But, he has overcome that.  I also had no idea Jack had such a good memory. Probably another trait of mine.  He can pick up verses soooo easily.  It reminds me I need to be careful what all he sees and hears because it will definitely stay in his little mind. Or on the flip side intentionally fill his heart and mind with good stuff.

"We will teach the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, ... He commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born and they in turn would tell their children." - Psalm 78: 4-7

Escape Artist

After putting Kyler in his crib here are a couple of the places I found him.
Playing with toys

Reading in his chair

These pictures were taken on two different occasions. He is still sleeping in his crib. We have a big boy bed for him but when given the choice he still wants to be in his crib, which I a more than happy about since it kills me that my BABY is outgrowing his crib. Even though he has slept in it several months longer then his brothers. There just isn't any reason to kick him out.

I want one!

I think my next child needs to be a college student...on permanent Christmas vacation. (Ha!)

My cousin Shanae came to stay with us for several days and I think I was in heaven! Wow, between this post and the last one I have been SPOILED lately! She was sooo helpful with the boys, the laundry, dishes, meals, the Barron, you name it she jumped in and helped. The boys LOVED her and it was a fantastic week!  Thank You Shanae!

Here she helped the Boys create Cookie Island - Santa's vacation spot.

I'm a Lucky Girl!

Yesterday started out like a normal Wednesday: Coffee with friends and Barron stuff with Jack and Kyler. I knew Tim had some business in a nearby town,  just an afternoon worth but he surprised me by getting a babysitter so I could go with him. YAY! I wasn't sure what I would do while I was there maybe some shopping or just sitting and reading without being bothered (both I was excited about). But, on our way Tim surprised me again, with a Spa day! It was WONDERFUL! I am a lucky girl to have such an amazing husband!

So, thanks to him my toes look like this:

which helps beat this cold winter day.  But, as much as I LOVED my surprise day off of pampering.  I would say seeing him work on putting together, for the second time, Kaden's HUGE lego power miner set, which took 4 days the first time.

Looking through thousands of pieces for the right ones,

all while letting these little hands "help",

makes me just as happy! Tim is truly an amazing husband & father.

Christmas Break

Our break started on Dec. 23 at 11:30 and we didn't waste anytime! We started by making some Christmas treats.

All of us after church on Christmas Eve at my parents house.

The boys opening the traditional Christmas Eve gift. Pajamas- this year KU p.j.s!

KU shirts from aunt Kristen

I love the concentration Kyler had on his presents.

A bike for Ky - he was sooo excited!

I LOVE the quiet moments after the presents are unwrapped of the boys playing with their new things.

Hubby even made dinner several nights of his vacation.

Oh, how I have loved all of us being home all day, Tim and I staying up late watching movies, and everyone sleeping in, wearing our p.j.s until late in the day, and playing with family and friends but tomorrow it's back to reality. Oh well, the work & school routine is what makes the vacation soooo sweet.

It was bound to happen...

There is nothing wrong with our Suburban, not a thing, and yet it was towed from our house yesterday.

You see thanks to this sweet little guy we don't have a key for it, nope not one. Who knows what happened to the other keys over the last 3 years, but Kyler lost the only one we had left. We looked for 2 days, cleaned the whole house, and went on several wild goose chases lead by Mr. Ky of where he thought he left the keys but finally called the dealership who could make us new keys BUT the suburban had to be there, so it had to be towed. I remember hearing kids were expensive but now know it isn't the diapers, food, and clothes they are talking about.

We have had a fantastic holiday season that has been so busy! You know your blog has been neglected when you have to sign in to post! But, I am hoping with the beginning of the new year my blog will once again become a priority.   Happy New Year!
