1 Month

Hudson you are 1 month old! I absolutely can't believe it!












At your dr. appointment yesterday you weighed 11 lbs. 13 oz! That puts you in the 92nd percentile. You have gained almost 4 lbs. in 4 weeks. What a big boy! You are also 21 3/4 in. long (75%).

You are wearing a size 1 diaper and 0-3 month clothes.



















You are a good sleeper, still sleeping most of the day and night. You wake up between 2 and 3 am and then around 6am. You nurse and then fall right back asleep.


When you aren't sleeping you love to lay on your play mat, watch your mobile, or swing.


Your brothers love you so much! The first thing they ask to do when they get home from school is hold baby Hudson.

Valentine's Day

The last several years we have used Valentine's Day to celebrate as a family. Tim and I go out when the restaurants aren't so crowded! This summer when we were in Colorado we took the boys to a fondue restaurant and it was a big hit and a great memory. The boys talk about it all the time. So, I decided to recreate that for Valentine's Day with a fondue dinner. It was a ton of work but the boys (hubby included) LOVED it.


















Who doesn't love an appetizer of bread and veggies dipped in cheese?












Our main course was beef and pork cooked on the table. YUM! This did make me so nervous though!





































And my favorite mini cupcakes, strawberries, chocolate, vanilla glaze, and sprinkles!














































Then we finished our night with a game of twister.
























My boys each gave me a pink rose, which I can't believe I didn't get a picture of.

I hope my family know how much I love them and remember this fun family night.

A little bit from the last week

Our Sunday school class brought dinner out to us on Monday night and right as they were getting there the boys noticed a stunned bird outside our back door. Jack comes into the house running back to his bedroom with this little box. I knew they were up to something so I stopped him.


















Sure enough he had the bird.

I'm sure my friends are now certain we live in crazyville. As they were leaving I convinced the boys the now awake bird should be let go. They threw the bird outside - it didn't fly- and the dog ate it. Which was traumatic for the boys. I told them after they had handled the bird it wasn't shocking it didn't fly.


Kyler fell asleep EARLY several nights. There is just too much excitement around here for him.















Hudson is still doing great! Here he is in an outfit handed down from from my oldest niece! She wore this little outfit when she was born 12 years ago! It was also worn by my nephew and all my boys.

My Little Snowmen

I made snowman shirts for my little boys. Of course, this winter there was only like one day it even made sense for them to wear them as they look funny on 60 degree days. Oh Well! They are still adorable!













Kyler is so proud of their matching "no man" shirts.

The boys were so funny. They opened their presents then immediately boxed them up and guarded them. They didn't want to share! Here is Kyler in his new boots from Aunt Kristen sitting on the farm set my parents gave him.

My FAVORITE memory of this year. Jack and Karoline insisted their elves (Frizzle & Felene) get married. So here we are at the ceremony. Jack is the best man & Karoline the maid of honor & the elves are sitting down. Oh this wedding had it all including "wedding music" played by uncle Josh.


























Christmas Day



















My favorite new tradition this year was the manger at the base of our Christmas tree. I was telling some friends about this and one of them sent me a manger! Basically, the whole Christmas season the kids got to add hay to the manger when they were kind or did something for others . The idea was that by being like Jesus our hearts would be ready for him as well as he would have a soft bed on Christmas morning.












And to remind the boys of why we celebrate Christmas. Jesus arrived on Christmas morning along with the gifts from Santa.













And because I might have some control issues with my Christmas tree, the boys have their own tree to decorate however they want. Yoda is even welcome to be the tree topper.



















Christmas morning Jack was the first one up and in the living room. He came running back to our bed and said in disbelief, "WE were on the nice list!"























































And 2,558 Legos later Christmas was pretty much wrapped up.

We ended the day with a Just Dance party.












Whew! After a fast paced month Tim took the last week off and we had some much needed down time as a family.
