Muggles only 1 Day Left!!!!!

Okay is anyone else out there anxiously awaiting the release of Harry Potter 7. We went and saw the 5th movie last night and now I can't wait to see how it ends. We are leaving on Friday for Oklahoma so I won't get to start reading it right away but I know it will be waiting on my doorstep when I get home on Sunday! I will probably be the last one in the world to know Harry's fate as I am sure it will take me forever to read. I don't see much house cleaning or laundry getting done until I finish though. So, those out there that are as excited as I am enjoy the book and no cheating! Those that don't get what I am talking about go get book 1 and start reading!

My Sweet Little Man

I am actually refering to Kaden in this post. Not that he isn't sweet all the time but he is 3 so there are a lot of moments everyday that he makes me want to pull my hair out. But, recently he has been so sweet. I want to remember moments like these forever as opposed to him pushing his brother down for the millionth time in a day!

1. When ever I get dressed up for church or a night out or even if I just spend a little more time getting ready in a morning he says, unprompted. "You look beautiful, Mommy." Talk about making my heart melt - everytime.

2. Last night Kaden would not eat his dinner. So, I saved it for him for when he was hungry later. Well, I come back in a little later and he is eating Yo-gos. I was mad at Tim for letting him have them after he heard me tell him he had to eat dinner before he could have them. Kaden looked at me and said. "Mommy, I am sorry daddy gave me Yo-Gos." Well, I went out to water the flowers and when I came back some of his dinner was gone. Tim told me Kaden went up to him and said "I don't want Mommy to be mad at you so I am going to go eat some of my dinner." Now if I could just get him to be compliant all the time!

3. This morning: "I love our baby. He is so cute."

And yesterday we had a "true boy" moment as well.

He jumped off the back of the couch and hit his nose on the coffee table. I didn't see this happen but when I got to him I was so afraid to look to see where all the blood was coming from. He had blood smeered in his hair, all over his face, smeered all over the couch cushion, and all over the floor. I had prepared myself for missing front teeth, a gash in his lip, etc. But, it was just his nose. It is swollen and bruised this morning but I don't think any permanent damage was done. I am very thankful God was watching out for my sweet little boy.
Oh, I better go. It sounds like there is a wrestling match in the living room and Jack is losing.

Pictures of the Kids

I took the boys to Portrait Innovations for Kaden's 3 year picture and Jack's 9 month picture. I was really happy with them so I wanted to share. We ended up with a ton of pictures so I will be giving them out to anyone who wants them.

Vacation Bible School

This last week was VBS. This was Kaden's first year to go. He had a good time and looked forward to it everyday. It was a little hard for him, he was one of the youngest. And I was the teacher. I didn't want to teach the class Kaden was in. But, it was either teach the 3 year olds or there wouldn't be a 3 year old class. So, I did it. I had a great time but I think Kaden would have done better for someone else. Last night was the closing program so here are a few pictures I got before my camera battery died.

We're not Moving!

Well, we are not moving to Texas. One week before we were supposed to close on our house some things changed and now we aren't going. I really think this is where we are supposed to be right now and God has plans for us here. But, on the other hand it is a little upsetting. I wish this would have happend before I had my heart set on moving. Of course, the things I feel I am missing are only material. The beautiful house, awesome preschool, many restaurants, lots of shopping, cool fitness place, etc. So, in reality those things don't matter. I think God is teaching me a lesson in contentment and what is really important. So we will be at the same address for awhile longer. But, we have great friends here and lots of family so it will be good and probably better here. And as much as it may surprise many of you there are many positives to staying. And who knows what address the future will hold for us!

Happy Birthday Kaden!

Wow, I can't believe the baby above (my premie) is my 3 year old today! I will have to say this is the first birthday that it has hit me how fast he is growing up. He is truly not a baby anymore. He doesn't wear diapers during the day anymore. He starts T-Ball tomorrow. And will go to preschool in the Fall. It is so fun to watch him gain independence and learn new things but is a little sad at the same time. But, this is what is supposed to happen and I am thankful for a healthy little boy.

We celebrated today after church. (Which, by the way was probably the last time he will go to the nursery. It is on to the 3 year old Sunday School Class.) We went to Pizza Hut with his cousins. Then we came home to open his presents from Mommy & Daddy. A trike, golf clubs, and water blasters. Of course, we had to go outside and play with everything. We will end the day with cake and ice cream with his grandparents. We will have a party with a few of his buddies in a couple of weeks.

6 Years of Marital Bliss

Today is our anniversary! That means between dating and marriage we have a combined total of 12 years of memories. And boy are there memories! One thing is for certain it has not been boring.
We got to celebrate by going out to breakfast without the kids (Thank You Aunt Kristen). We got to have a conversation and everything. What a luxury!

Actually over the years we have celebrated our anniversary in some unique ways but all have been memorable. Here is a run down.

June 2, 2002 - 1st anniversary - We were students and had a budget so we splurged on good steaks at the grocery store. And went home and cooked and ate dinner at home complete with some 1 year old wedding cake for dessert. Yummy!

June 2, 2003 - 2nd Anniversary - We went to KC and ate dinner on the Plaza. You can't beat the Cheesecake factory. Probably one of our most traditional celebrations.

June 2, 2004 - 3rd Anniversary - My water broke so most of the day was spent in the hospital. Kaden missed our anniversary by 45 minutes. What a party!

June 2, 2005 - Tim had a meeting in Dallas the next day so we spent the day driving. I think we grabbed McDonald's on the road. Romantic.

June 2, 2006 - When I was in labor on our 3rd anniversary I was adamant Kaden not be born on our day. I didn't want to share. Well he wasn't but now most of our anniversary's are spent preparing for his b-day party. I was up late decorating an Elmo birthday cake this year and Tim was cleaning the house. Oh, of course we went out a different night.

And that brings us to this year. To most this would seem very pathetic. Not the stuff of soap operas or romantic comedys. But, to us it is wonderful. I am very lucky to have such a wonderful husband. He is truly my best friend.
